Susan Poage has long been an advocate for families and children in town. As a teacher at Mary Kay McMillan School, she has been awarded both Teacher of the Year and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching. As a Councilwoman, Susan created the Grants Committee, which has successfully secured dollars that have enhanced the liveability of our community and received a Municipal Innovation Award. As a member of the Planning Board and Master Plan sub-committee she has sought input and direction from residents on how the future of Berkeley Heights will look for the next 10 years and beyond. Susan and her husband, Russell, have lived in Berkeley Heights for over two decades raising their two children, Alex and Madeline, here in town.
“I believe my work on Council, and for the residents of Berkeley Heights, represents fiscal responsibility, honesty, vision, creativity and transparency. I look forward to continuing to fight for these values.”
